Kundli Analysis: What a Vedic Birth Chart Shows (50+ Charts Reviewed)
I have analysed more than 50 kundlis. A plain-language guide to what a Vedic birth chart contains and how Jyotish reads it, for reflection rather than prediction.
कुण्डली (Kundli)
What is a kundli?
A kundli, or Vedic birth chart, is a map of the sky at the moment and place of birth. In Jyotish it is the foundation for understanding a person’s tendencies and timing.
What it contains
- Lagna (ascendant): the rising sign, the starting point of the chart.
- Twelve bhavas (houses): areas of life such as self, family, work and relationships.
- Nine grahas (planets): the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.
- Nakshatras: the 27 lunar mansions that add detail to the Moon’s placement.
- Dasha periods: planetary time cycles, commonly the Vimshottari system.
My practice
I have analysed more than 50 kundlis, with more coming. I use them to prompt reflection on strengths, patterns and timing, never as a promise about the future.
