Darjeeling is a hill town in West Bengal, India, famous for its tea gardens, its mountain railway and clear-day views toward Kanchenjunga.
Why it stays with me
It sits close to Nepal in feel as well as distance: hill culture, tea, mountains and a mix of languages I recognised.
